We are fortunate to have a friend in the neighbourhood that is very handy. He also has a heart of gold to match his gruff exterior. His name is Larry. This gentleman across the street built the dog house to specifications with 2x4s, 2x8s, quality siding and insulation, professional hinges and screws. All of the things to build a project like this are very expensive and he donated his time and labour so Ardelle paid $120 for a $300 plus dog house. He did this in as little time as possible. Sandy had her dog house by the second week in December. We have not heard from Ms Nesbit since the Ardelle phoned her for an extension on November the 28th.
Those are the facts ...now let me tell you my slant on this weird state of affairs. After the worker left I came upstairs to find my friend Ardelle frustrated and near to tears. We both knew that Sandy; although part Golden, was definitely more Husky than anything. A Husky is recognizable by its thickly furred double coat, sickle tail, erect triangular ears, and distinctive markings. The only thing that Sandy is missing are the erect triangle ears. Huskies are an active, energetic, and resilient breed whose ancestors came from the extremely cold and harsh environment of the Siberian Arctic. Sandy is definitely more Husky than anything else.
One of the things that Sandy does is plop herself in a snowbank and smile as though she is on a down filled cover. Take note people ....this dog is a Husky. If you bring her in after being out for 15 minutes she will bug you till she is let out again. When she wants human company she barks at the door and waits patiently. She remains quietly sitting outside until someone comes. She is a ...wait for it ....a Husky! Alright ...the house is delivered and what does our Sandy do? She goes and sits in the nearest snow bank. Duh! She is a HUSKY!
The silliest part of this story is .....the vestibule on this grand dog home is bigger than the one in our house. If I were homeless I would live in this doggie bungalow. All I got to say is there is a beautiful ornament on our front lawn and a large dog in a snow bank in front of it that is .....wait for it....a HUSKY!
The dog upstairs is quite interesting. I heard the lady upstairs call her a Husky. She is quite attractive but a romance with her is impossible. Mom says I would need a ladder; so I did not give here anything for Valentines Day. She stays outside a lot more than me. You see I am a very little lap dog. My people are from the breed known as Pomeranian. I am a compact sturdy dog with an abundant textured coat with a highly plumed tail set high and flat. The top coat forms a mane on the neck, and a fringe of feathery hair on the hind quarters. So although I have plenty of fur I don't have the kind that my friend Sandy has on her. I cannot go outside on cold days without a coat on as I am just a little lap dog.
