I am glad both the Ottawa and the White House made clear how disappointed they are in this trial. That they had a five month trial is beyond common sense. I believe that Amnesty International is correct when they said that June 23rd's rulings were "a dark day for media freedom in Egypt." I believe that the three were prosecuted by a lame court system "simply for doing their jobs as journalists, covering Islamist protests against the ouster last year of president Mohammed Morsi". The fact that three other foreign journalists, two from the UK and one from Holland being sentenced to 10 years in 'absentia' is ludicrous. To learn more about this situation go to here.
On to the next item. I am sorry I haven't written this month till now but the weather has been so amazing I have been out most days. So far this June has been amazing for gardening and simply being outside. Please take care not to get sun stroke, be sun burnt or be bitten by mosquitoes my friends and enjoy your summer.
The Wee Few Thoughts of Dylan the Dog.
I am so very glad that Ruth got me a groom a few weeks back as it is so nice and cool for summer. I love being outside in the back or front gardens. The Fairy Bells, Mock Orange, and Violas are amongst the beautiful flowers that are out now in the Lady's garden behind the house. Ruth has all kinds of veggies, and herbs in her postage stamp garden in the front. In love smelling all the lovely new things springing forth. Just a little reminder; don't forget the Revolution or whatever you use, for your pets if they go out of doors particularily. Enjoy the wonderful weather doggies all!
