Now we will move forward about 56 years. This morning I had a little run in with the postman. He usually blesses us with our mail delivery between 9:30 am and 11:00 am. The lady upstairs keeps her husky Sandi in for this time. So we thought that our often grumpy, dreadfully behaved postman would spare us his wrath today. As it was after 11:00 am Sandi was outside on her yard leash and she barked as she does every time another dog and master or deliveryman walks by our home. I went out, sore legs and all, to get the mail from the gentleman. I asked him if he wanted me to get the mail at the driveway, to which he nodded at me indicating yes I imagined. I had to walk all the way down our driveway; as he would not come to meet me, though the dog would not have been able to get near him. He practically threw it into my hand. I said, "Thank you". He then without a word or a smile walked on to the next house, talking to himself in what sounded like another language.
This is not the first time that he has been unpleasant or rude with one of us.
I usually try to give something extra to the delivery persons that come to our address a lot, at Christmas . Suffice to say in the almost 2 or 3 years he has delivered here, he has never been given anything; as he has been terribly rude on so many occasions. Well this incident today was the last straw so I reported him to the post office. I do not want him to be fired. I just want them to get him to be nicer to his customers in general. If he behaves badly with us, I am sure he behaves badly with others. The people at the post office say they will get back to me. I do hope they do and that he starts acting as though he deserves the pay he is receiving. His pay is our hard earned taxes.
The Wee Few Thoughts of Dylan the Dog
I just have a few things to say today. The smells in the air and in the grass are improving, we have had some really nice weather lately and life is so much more enjoyable when I can get outside in the garden. The violets are up and they are lovely, but the pretty hyacinths, and scintilla are all gone now. Soon so many more flowers will be up and I will have even more fragrances to enjoy.
We spend most mornings watching the garden lady water, rake, plant, weed and hoe. She is one of Ruth's dearest friends. They sit for awhile every time we go to the garden and talk and I dig under the garden seat. I really do enjoy myself and I think the ladies do too! Oh I am getting groomed next week!
