a natural Boxer. No one has cropped
his tail or ears to make him one bit
"aesthetically" pleasing. I may be in a
smaller camp of boxer admirers but I
wouldn't alter what the good Lord
has given to my children nor would I
alter anything else He created. I don't
know who came up with the Loonie
idea that cropped ears and tail would
be an improvement on the Lord's
good work but they were dead wrong
in my opinion.
As puppies or young adults they are
just full of beans. That is the main
reason I do not have one. They are
too energetic for an older person.
They deserve a younger friend that
can keep up with them. They are
more dignified in middle age. Boxers
become more calm, dignified, and
loyal at this time of life. Their
average life span is nine to fifteen
years.
The boxer is the product of the
Bullenbeisser (German) and the old
time English bulldogs used for bull
baiting. So the boxer is a "bully
breed".
Boxers can have all kinds or sorts of
black striping. They can even have
such a lot of black striping they
appear to be black with fawn-
coloured striping. The boxers who
have this colorization are often called
reverse brindle boxers.
Boxers are very child and family
friendly animals. They love playing
toys or balls. They easily learn how
to fetch, in fact they love to keep on
moving. Boxers are sort of the clowns
of the dog world. Mischievous,
lovable, creatures with the joy of life
found in their big soulful eyes. When
you get a boxer trained well you can
not find a more companionable
animal.
My sister used to have boxers. Most
where what a good one should be and
carried themselves with dignity but
the last one although sweet was too
wild, silly, and poorly behaved.
However for the most part the well
trained Boxer deserves to be
told that he or she is a good boy or
girl! Like all dogs, the Boxer reacts
well to kindness and love in training
and day to day life.
