I have been back in Canada for five and half years. When I was living in the United States I banked at the Bank of America. I got a small Survivors Pension in the states when my late American husband died. I continue to receive it here in Canada as a deposit in my Bank of America account. Their sister bank here in Canada is the Bank of Nova Scotia. I went to that bank this morning to withdraw my monies. I tried several times and it kept declining me. I have never had a problem with the card or the Bank of Nova Scotia once since I have been here. I t has put me in a difficult position to say the least. I need the money for groceries and bills. So I walked away from that bank with no money in hand.
I had always been able to use my card at Loblaws but today for some reason it would not work. A friend of mine was kind enough to help me by buying my dog's food. I, of course will pay her back as soon as I am able. Needless to say I am going to put my direct deposit in the a bank here in Canada as soon as I can.
I cannot do anything about it at all until tomorrow as this is Memorial Day. Technology was not my friend today. I woke up with very sore legs today; which were made more even more painful by the trip to the bank. My Osteoarthritis is worse when it is rainy like it is today. The dog upstairs is howling like a wolf; which is understandable as she is a husky. Today just seems a little bluer than most.
What am I going to do to get myself feeling better? I am going to chill out, have a nice lunch, and try with the banking tomorrow. What I have deduced from this morning's experiences is this: "If it doesn't rain it pours."
The Wee Few Words of Dylan the Dog
The thing that is primary in my mind is the cold wet weather. I guess Indian Summer is over. Too short if you ask me! My lady says its going to get colder.
But I do have something to look forward to....a much needed grooming and they will finally clip my toenails. Both Ruth and I find the tapping very unnerving. It also doesn't do much for my balance. Other than that I don't have much to say. Just be good to your people fellow canines and dress warmly when it is cold.
